As part of Birmingham’s Creative City Partnership, Birmingham City University is set to host the second ReThink Media conference.

With an impressive line-up of industry leaders, including Simon Fox, Chief Executive at Trinity Mirror and Joe Harland, Executive Producer at BBC Radio 1, the event will address Birmingham’s commitment to digital media growth.

Taking place on March 25, the conference will explore the current challenges facing Birmingham in its ambitions to become a leader in digital media.  The growing influence of audience-created content will also be a focus along with the changing patterns of media consumption. The conference will also explore what future changes may be needed and how the digital media sector needs to ‘skill up’ to ensure the UK remains at the forefront of new developments.

Joanna Birch, event organiser and Head of Corporate Relations at Birmingham City University, said: “The key focus of ReThink Media is the changing media landscape. Digital technologies are helping to facilitate new forms of media content creation with dynamic audience participation in addition to creating a new generation of media entrepreneur.”

“The conference will look at both the digital landscape of multi-platform content provision and highlight new talent behind the scenes - asking how we can develop new models of content creation to drive creative economies.”

Other speakers at the event include Caroline Norbury, CEO of Creative England, Hannah Waldram, European Community Manager for Instagram and host of The Gadget Show, Jason Bradbury.
