Adam Stewart design award

Final year web and new media degree student Adam Stewart has been piling up award nominations for his web design work.

Adam's online work on 'Project Negative' was nominated for the Campaign of the Year for this year's NUS LGBT Awards, while his website for International Drag Day was nominated for the Youth Achievement Award as part of the Midlands Zone Awards at The Birmingham Gay and Lesbian Pride Ball.

Adam says: "Each has been a great opportunity. I had lots of fun and was very proud to have been shortlisted. For Project Negative I was very proud - not of my achievements - but of the work of my team behind Project Negative which included Jade Dale, Danielle Brodie, Alison Richards, Carly York and Kimberley Gammon without whom the campaign wouldn't exist."

Adam credits the course at Birmingham City University for helping him achieve the recognition.

"I designed the International Drag Day website as part of my 'Design for Production' assignment, which allowed me to research the target audience to ensure it had the best reach, and that the final design was far more specific and professional than its early form.

"However, it is the Project Negative campaign which is more explicitly linked to the course as it is part of my and others' final year projects - so to get acclaim like that from the National Union of Students along with the great media coverage in Pinks Paper, Midlands Zone, Birmingham Mail etcetera is more than I had imagined.”
