The Law School boasts the largest American Internship Programme in the UK, where students on the programme have an opportunity to work on criminal and constitutional law cases across America.
We have a leading human rights team that provides opportunities to experience Mock United Nations Sessions in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Students will also have the opportunity to be part of a brief writing team filing cases in US courts, and have an opportunity to work on innocence claims in America. Dr Jon Yorke, an award winning lecturer and expert on European human rights, provides Law students with research assistant opportunities. Through Dr Yorke’s support; students are able to join the blog committee for his blog Human Rights and Public Law. This is an exciting resource to help keep students at the cutting edge of human rights developments around the world.
The LLB programme taught at the University’s Law School is a qualifying law degree which enables students to progress onto the professional qualifications required to become solicitors or barristers.
