A team of enthusiastic runners from the Faculty of Education, Law and Social Sciences at Birmingham City University took part in a 10k (6.2 mile) fundraising run at Cannon Hill park in Birmingham on Sunday 4 November 2012.
The faculty has recently established a collaborative partnership with run organisers The National Institute for Conductive Education (NICE), a local charity working to improve the lives of children and adults with neurological motor disorders.
Through the partnership the University is working with NICE's training and development college to accredit the UK's only undergraduate degree in Conductive Education and to undertake joint research activity.
Associate Dean for Research and Business Development, Professor Alex Kendall said “It's been great to be part of a non-work focused team with colleagues.
This has been a really welcomed opportunity for us to show our support and commitment to our partner (NICE) in a less conventional way.”
The team have now set their sights on a half-marathon in the spring.
