Sunnah Yaqoob, a Student Success Advisor in the Faculty has been working closely with the Wellbeing Team at the University. Sunnah said, “I arranged anxiety management and mindfulness workshops at Millennium Point, to help students based in the Faculty access the support they needed.”
Using the University Assistant App, available exclusively to students in the Faculty, Sunnah has been able to reach out to students who may not be comfortable talking face-to-face with staff when it comes to mental health.
Sunnah and the Student Success Advisor team also ran a tea party in the Faculty, which had drop in sessions for students, workshops and mindfulness activities including origami, games and adult colouring. Sunnah added, “We informed students about the services the University offers for Mental Health support. Events like this help us be visible in the Faculty.”
