About eczema

Eczema is a long-term skin condition. Around 1 in 5 children and 1 in 12 adults have the condition. It requires a lot of self-care which can take time and effort, this can be challenging.

About the open day

During the all-day event at New Street station, passersby will be able to:

  • Learn about and sign up for the Rapid Eczema Trials Citizen Science Community, which aims to improve the lives of people living with eczema through community research
  • Watch short (2-5 minute) films about eczema

About the event team

On Saturday, researchers and experts from the Rapid Eczema team will be on-hand to chat to people who have eczema or know someone who has and help with self-care.

This includes people with eczema, and researchers from the University of Nottingham and Birmingham City University.

About the Rapid Eczema trials

The Rapid Eczema trials research project has been funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR), which is the research arm of the NHS. This project will enable people with eczema to answer questions that they have about how best to care for their eczema.
