Anastasia Nikologianni, PhD student at Birmingham School of Architecture and Design recently exhibited work at Innovation Festival 2015.
The event was organised by the EU’s main climate innovation initiative Climate-KIC in collaboration with Innovation Birmingham, and took place at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre on Thursday 29 October.
Anastasia presented segments of her research looking into low carbon and spatial quality landscape design. The work examined the meaning of low carbon in landscape and how contemporary garden cities could be designed in a sustainable way, creating quality and inspiring spaces. Anastasia said:
The exhibition also focused on the role of drawing throughout the design process, and how this is used as a communication tool for professionals and the public.
Anastasia’s research is now looking into ways in which spatial quality and sustainability could be secured during the implementation phase of a landscape project.
