It has recently been confirmed that well-respected architect Matthew Hayhurst, Associate Partner at leading global architecture practice Foster and Partners will be holding a guest lecture at Birmingham School of Architecture and Design.
The talk
The talk is scheduled to take place on Thursday 17 March at 2pm and will feature at Birmingham City University’s Parkside Building, housing Birmingham School of Architecture and Design in the City Centre.
Main focus
The lecture aimed at “architecture students of all years” will share Matthew’s experiences from working in the industry for over eight years and also being a visiting critic at the University of Nottingham, but will also discuss the architectural aspects of Jerusalem’s newest museum ‘Friends of Zion Heritage Center’, which opened in September 2015.
Unique features within the museum include pioneering technology, three dimensional exhibitions and bespoke lighting. Victoria Farrow, Programme Director on the BA (Hons) Architecture course said:

Foster and Partners is a London-based leading architecture and design practice that has been operating over the past four decades with projects spanning from airports and cultural buildings to offices and private houses.
The practice now holds offices from all over the globe from America to Hong Kong.
Level 4 students
In addition to the lecture itself, Matthew will also be reviewing the School’s Level 4 students the following day alongside Birmingham-based architect Frank Brophy and Head of Birmingham School of Architecture Kevin Singh, looking specifically at ‘Project 5’, which is an urban scheme for the design of a work unit in Birmingham’s famous Jewellery Quarter.
