Peter is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy at Birmingham City University. Arriving in October 2016, Peter successfully designed and developed the programme, which is accredited by The Society of Sports Therapists. Having previously worked at the University of Bedfordshire and the University of Hertfordshire, Peter brings his experience of delivering high quality teaching to Birmingham City University.

Peter is a practising Sports Therapist and Physiotherapist, with excellent experience in football and basketball. As an advocate of academic staff remaining clinical, Peter currently works as a clinician with Basketball England, frequently travelling throughout the UK and Europe. More recently, Peter was the lead therapist supporting the Men’s Basketball Team at the Commonwealth Games 2018, Australia.

Aside from his clinical experience, Peter obtained his PhD in 2013 and
remains passionate about his research, with publications in peer reviewed journals and books, and often presents his work at international conferences and as a guest speaker at other UK universities. His main research interest is investigating the use of cryotherapy within sport.
