Students provide health and wellbeing seminars to Edgbaston Priory Club members
A group of Sport and Exercise Nutrition students showcased their knowledge and evidence based practice, in a series of seminars to members of the Edgbaston Priory Club. These were designed to provide the audience with a greater understanding of how to lead and maintain healthy lifestyles, and the links between nutrition and exercise.
The seminars covered topics such as fuelling and recovery, optimising immunity, body composition and hydration.
The aim of the project was to give the students the opportunity to undertake a mini placement, and gain experience and develop skills in a related work environment. In preparation for the seminars, the students had to show that they had researched each subject area, and work together on the best way to share their knowledge, to create interactive and motivating sessions.
The seminars were a great success, for both our students, and the members of the Edgbaston Priory Club, and we look forward to continuing to work with The Priory in the future.
