Kate has worked as a Therapeutic Radiographer in Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre and as a Radiation Therapist in Perth, Western Australia.

 Kate joined Birmingham City University in 2006 as a Senior Clinical/Academic Lecturer in Radiotherapy.  During her time at BCU Kate has co-ordinated modules for the BSc and FdSc programmes, and undertaken the role of Joint Postgraduate Lead for Radiotherapy and Foundation Degree lead for Radiography.  

Kate is personal tutor to the BSc students at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and currently teaches predominantly at levels 4 and 6.  Her main interests lie in non-medical prescribing and she is passionate about inspiring students to provide the highest standards of patient care and communication and ensuring equity of provision for those with additional needs.  To this end, Kate began her Doctorate in Health in 2022 and is working towards looking at equity of access to Radiotherapy treatment for patients with learning disabilities.
