Paul is an Operating Department Practitioner and Alumni of BCU. During his training he attended the Birmingham hospitals circuit rotation for his first year and at City Hospital for his second. Paul initially worked at City Hospital post qualification for three and a half years, and then moved to Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH) in 2013. At BCH he specialised in anaesthetics and worked across neuro, craniofacial and liver transplants predominately, but covered all specialities from ophthalmic to cardiac and cardiology.

Paul further progressed in his career as a neuro technician and then into education. Paul works with various simulation faculties to provide paediatric emergency training and have worked with Terema to provide human factors training for all members of the theatre multi-disciplinary teams.

He has a keen interest in human behaviour and behavioural psychology particularly in the clinical environment, which helps support his facilitation of simulations in a psychologically safe manner.
