Who’s running this?
Birmingham City University, Curzon Building, 4 Cardigan Street, Birmingham, B4 7BD (the “University”), in partnership with the European Athletics Championships, Alexander Stadium Walsall Road, Perry Barr, Birmingham B42 2LR (the “Partner”).
What is this prize draw and who can enter?
This is the European Athletics Championships Tickets Prize Draw (the “Prize Draw”). You can enter if you like the relevant post on the official BCU Instagram page, tag a friend and write a comment between 23rd July 2026 and 6th August 2026.
The Prize Draw is open to the general public.
How do I enter?
The Prize Draw runs from 23rd July 2026 (Opening Date) to 11.59pm on 6th August 2026 (Closing Date). You will be entered into the Prize Draw by linking this post on the official BCU Instagram page, tagging a friend and writing a comment on the post. By entering, you agree to these terms.
You will be limited to one entry. Multiple entries will be excluded.
What’s the prize?
x2 tickets to European Athletics Championships.
There will be two winners. Each will receive x2 tickets for the European Athletics Championships for the morning of Friday 14th August. The tickets are non-transferable and there is no alternative monetary prize.
How is the winner chosen?
We will select the winner at random from all eligible entries. The draw will happen Friday 7th August using a randomised number generator. It will be conducted by the Content Team and independently verified by a member of staff not directly involved. Our decision is final and we will not enter into correspondence about it. If there is a technical or administrative error that affects the draw, we may run a further draw using the same eligibility criteria. We may ask the winner to take part in marketing related to the Prize Draw, and by entering you agree you are willing to do so if asked.
How will I know if I’ve won and how do I claim?
We will try to contact the winner by email within seven days of the draw. The winner must reply within 14 days to accept the Prize and provide proof of identity. If the winner does not respond in time, we may withdraw the Prize and choose another winner.
Liability
If the University fails to comply with these terms and conditions, we are responsible for loss and damage an entrant suffers as a foreseeable result of our breach or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was an obvious consequence of the University’s breach or was contemplated by an entrant and the University at the time the entrant entered into the Prize Draw, which is subject to these terms and conditions.
The University does not exclude or limit its liability in any circumstances where it is prevented from doing so by the laws of England and Wales. Except in such circumstances, the University’s maximum liability to an entrant, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or for breach of statutory duty shall in no event exceed the value of the winners’ prize.
Your entry and your data
By entering this Prize Draw, the entrant agrees that we may use their data within the University to administer the competition. The University ensures that all personal data is held in accordance with UK data protection laws.
General
The University reserves the right to vary any of these terms and conditions without notice. In such event, the University will make reasonable efforts to communicate any change with entrants. Except as set out, no person that is not a party to these terms and conditions is to have benefit or be capable of enforcing any term as a result of the Contract (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999. If any part of these terms and conditions are found to be invalid or unenforceable, then that part shall be deleted, and the enforceability and validity of the other provisions shall not be affected. This contract and any claim or dispute arising out of it shall be governed by the law of England and Wales and the entrant submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
