Essa Shahra

Essa Shahra was born in Ibb, Yemen. He received a Bachelor's degree from Taiz University in his home country, before progressing on to his Master's at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia. Essa is now working towards his PhD in Internet of Things (IoT) here at Birmingham City University. His research interests are IoT, wireless sensor networks, routing, fog computing, indoor localisation, and computer network and security.

Essa’s work experience has included working as a graduate assistant at King Fahd University and a teaching assistant at Taiz University, within their faculty of engineering. His research at Birmingham City University is funded by Marie Curie.
