Social Work Education, Policy and Practice

The Social Work Education, Policy and Practice research group (SWEPP) aims to promote social justice, human rights and emancipatory practice through its research activities and disseminating its findings.

The SWEPP research group was established in February 2021 and formally launched in November 2021, as part of our Social Work Department's 50th Anniversary Celebrations. Its work is centred on the International Federation of Social Work (IFSW) definition of social work.  Although individual group members have differing and diverse areas of interest, our common focus is our interest in particularly marginalised groups and areas of practice. SWEPP aims to promote social justice, human rights and emancipatory practice in these domains, through its research activities and the dissemination of its findings.
