William Blake was born in Soho London in 1757. By the age of eight he had seen “a tree filled with Angels” in Peckham Rye - their wings “bespangled every bough like stars”.
He was a painter, poet and engraver. Songs of Innocence and of Experience is his most famous visionary work combining art and poetry. Wordsworth thought he was insane; Coleridge thought he was a genius. He saw the world through extraordinary visions.
Mysterious, profoundly strange, subversive, but always filled with beauty and magic.
This brand new production, explores the turbulent paradise of Blake’s life, art, and visions.
