Lottie Mahoney, from Norwich, graduated from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with a Bachelor of Music with First Class Hons in 2025, and is currently completing the first year of her Master's degree at RBC, generously supported by the Laurin and Arthur Glaze Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Scholarship, and Help Musicians Postgraduate Award.
Lottie has been awarded places on orchestral schemes, with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet, and the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra.
Lottie has won various chamber music competitions, including the Leamington Music Prize in 2025, and the Brian Midgley Chamber Prize in 2026. Lottie has also recently been enjoying deputising on the UK tour of Mary Poppins.
Yuwen Fan began studying the violin at the age of four under Wang Baihong before continuing his training with Spanish violinist Marc Amengol. In 2018, he was admitted to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Associate Professor Geng Liu and received chamber music coaching from Jensen Lam and Yuan Zhang, and was awarded scholarships.
In 2022, he gained a place at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana for his Master’s degree, studying with Massimo Quarta, and received chamber music coaching from Pavel Berman, Saiko Sasaki, and Yuval Gottlieb Wich. In 2024, he moved to the UK to undertake an Artist Diploma at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where he studies with Nathaniel Vallois and Jiafeng Chen.
Throughout his studies, Yuwen has received guidance from distinguished musicians including Shlomo Mintz, James Ehnes, and Tasmin Little. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed across Europe and Asia.
Jinshuo Zhang is a pianist and chamber musician performing across Europe and Asia. He has performed in more than ten countries, appearing at venues including Symphony Hall (Birmingham), Solti Hall (Budapest), the Philharmonic Chamber Music Hall (Warsaw), the Penderecki European Centre (Lusławice), and Otto-Wagner-Areal (Vienna). He completed his Master’s degree at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music with an Outstanding result before continuing his studies in the United Kingdom.
Jinshuo is currently studying at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Performance. As the first recipient of the Joseph Weingarten Trust Full Scholarship, he continues to develop as an artist. He performs as a soloist and plays chamber music regularly, collaborating with musicians across the UK. He also enjoys composing and arranging, and frequently performs contemporary works and ballet music.
