 "SYMPHONIC TRANSFORMATIONS"

Conductor James Ham
Cordelia Williams Charlton piano

Rimsky-Korsakov Cappricio Espagnole
Rachmaninoff Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini
Rachmaninoff Symphonic Dances

Brilliant orchestration spins raw materials into orchestral gold. Spanish folk melodies burst with colour and bravura, the theme from Paganini’s Caprice brims with a new pianistic virtuosity, and Rachmaninoff draws on his earlier music to create the symphonic culmination of his musical life.
