Biography

I'm a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for Game Technology at Birmingham City University (BCU). I specialise in technical game development, real-time asset workflows, and interactive worldbuilding. I’m passionate about helping students grow their skills through hands-on, industry-focused teaching and collaborative projects.

Expertise in Games

My expertise spans Unity and Unreal Engine development, technical art, shaders, version control, and optimisation. I focus on teaching students how to build scalable, efficient game systems and how to work effectively in teams. I also have a research interest in using games for education, and exploring accessible game development workflows, lowering the barrier for entry.

Industry Connections

Our course team maintains strong ties with industry including partnerships with Unity, Epic Games, and a number of UK-based and international studios. We regularly host guest speakers, run industry panels, and engage with our Industry Advisory Board to ensure our course stays aligned with professional expectations.

Studying Games in Birmingham
Birmingham is a vibrant, creative city with a growing digital sector- and at BCU, we combine that with strong facilities, studio-style teaching, and a collaborative learning environment that sets our students up for success.
Graduate Destinations

Graduates from our course have secured roles at leading studios like Codemasters, RARE,  and Ubisoft, as well as across smaller studios, indie development, virtual production, simulation, and XR. Others have launched their own ventures or moved into adjacent digital sectors where game development skills are in high demand.
