In a real coup for the Eastside Jazz Club, Angelica Sanchez will be visiting the Conservatoire as part of a trip to Birmingham during which she will be recording an album with Paul Dunmall. She will be playing at Eastside Jazz Club with saxophonist John O’Gallagher, an old friend from New York, and drummer Miles Levin.
The Mike Anning Quartet is made up of third and fourth year students including Stan Newman, Matt Hollick and Matt Holmes. This quartet plays mainly original compositions inspired by jazz musicians such as Steve Wilson, Kenny Garrett and others. They also play music from jazz musicians including Ralph Bowen, Ralph Towner, Kenny Garrett and Mike DiRubbo.
