RBC Saxophone Ensemble
Old and new repertoire rub shoulders with arrangements and original compositions in an hour-long early evening concert by the RBC Saxophone Ensemble. The earliest transcription is of Lotti’s Crucifixus, a sublime work of 17th century polyphony, written for eight voices. Contrast that with a new composition for saxophone ensemble by Karen Street, a jazz accordionist, composer and former member of the all-girl saxophone quartet The Fairer Sax.
The ensemble is made up of members of the saxophone department and is directed by RBC saxophone tutor Andy Tweed.
