Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Open Day 7 December 2023

Our Open Days are held twice a year and are designed to give you a real insight into life as a conservatoire student. Take part in introductory talks, tour our £57 million music building and meet our trailblazing academics and inspiring students.
Our Open Days cover all of our Music and Acting undergraduate and postgraduate courses. You’ll also have an opportunity to speak to our support teams such as Accommodation, Admissions and Finance, giving you an insight into how we can help you throughout your studies.
It’s open to everyone, but it’s definitely for you if you…
Want to study in ultra-modern campus with state-of-the-art facilities: We are currently undertaking a £340 million investment programme in our facilities, including a major expansion of our City Centre Campus. Our music students are taught in a £57 million teaching and performance facility, which is the first of its kind in the digital age. It features Birmingham’s only dedicated jazz club, a 500-seat concert hall, 100 practice and rehearsal rooms and seven industry standard recording studios.
Want to consider study at a conservatoire that’s part of a major university: We’re an integral part of Birmingham City University – an institution with 29,000 students from 100 countries. This opens up our students to a huge community with excellent amenities and interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities. We've just been awarded TEF Gold for Student Experience and been ranked 2nd in the UK for Drama and Dance (Guardian League Table 2024) too.
Want to study at a conservatoire with exceptional links to concert venues and theatres: To give our students the best opportunities, we maintain close relationships with highly regarded entities such as the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Federation of Drama Schools, Symphony Hall, Birmingham Hippodrome and more.
Want to study in a major city with excellent transport links: We’re at the heart of the UK’s second-largest city with a population of over 1.1 million people. Birmingham also has an international airport.
Are a friend, family or carer of someone who’s considering where to study: You’re very welcome to come along and experience the day.
Need an affordable university experience: Our typical cost of university accommodation starts at £156 per week. This includes heating and water (see accommodation pages for details).
