Pete Dalton MBA is Director of Evidence Base, which he established in 2004 with the ethos of providing evidence to support practice and aid decision making for practitioners and policy makers in the information and related sectors. Prior to this he co-directed the Centre for Information Research (CIRT) within the University.

Pete is involved in all aspects of delivering and managing high quality research, evaluation and consultancy project work, including winning contracts, managing projects, engaging with stakeholders and disseminating outputs.

Pete has experience of managing a wide range of projects for many different funders. He is a veteran researcher and evaluator and a qualified management consultant. He also holds formal qualifications in project, programme, portfolio and risk management.

Pete has a wide range of interests including:

  • evaluation methodologies and techniques
  • electronic information and libraries
  • information flow and audit
  • evidence-based practice
  • performance assessment
  • knowledge management.

As well as working with a range of external clients, Pete has worked to support the work of Birmingham City University. This has involved working with Library and Learning Resources staff to help them better understand their users and evaluate their services as well as developing consultancy capacity and knowledge transfer. In this respect Pete has held the role of Knowledge Transfer Fellow and Mentor.
