Oxford Academic: New Home for e-Books

Library News Last updated 04 July 2022

On Tuesday 19th July the following e-Book collections from Oxford University Press will migrate to their new online home, Oxford Academic:

Following the migration, e-Books from the above collections will be available alongside Oxford University Press e-Journals for the first time in a single platform called Oxford Academic, from where you can:

  • Cross-search content
  • Search or browse content from the books or journals landing pages
  • Filter to see only subscribed content

The migration isn't expected to result in any downtime and after Tuesday 19th July there will be a period of dual access to the e-Books at both their existing and new homes:

  • Dual access for Oxford Handbooks Online will be available until Monday 25th July
  • Dual access for Oxford Scholarship Online will be available until Thursday 28th July

Will my saved searches, bookmarks and alerts be migrated?

The details of your saved searches, bookmarks and alerts on the existing Oxford Handbooks Online and Oxford Scholarship Online sites will not be transferred as part of the migration. You may want to use the period of dual access to record these details so that you can recreate them on Oxford Academic.

Where can I find out more about Oxford Academic?

Use the period of dual access to watch the Oxford Academic YouTube video and familiarise yourself with the new platform:
