If you're looking for information on clinical nutrition or the economics, science and technology of food then look no further than our Nutrition and Food Science database. Here you can search or browse for abstracts and citations, including some with full-text and Open Access links, of journal articles and research reports.

Where can I find out more about the new home for the Nutrition and Food Science database?

Now is as good a time as any to take a look, as the Nutrition and Food Science database has recently migrated from its previous home on the CAB Direct platform to its new home on the CABI Digital Library platform. You can access the Nutrition and Food Science database, on and off campus, via links from our A-Z of Databases List and BCU Library Search, just sign-in with your BCU email address and password if or when prompted.

If you have previously searched the Nutrition and Food Science database, then don't worry we will still have access via CAB Direct until December 2023 but we do recommend that you start accessing it via the new CABI Digital Library platform and get familiar with some of the great new features, including:

  1.  Simple search available from all pages
  2.  Advanced search option
  3.  Browse by topic, full-text or Open Access
  4.  Citation exporter
  5.  Personal accounts for saved searches, alerts and project folders

Where can I find out more about the new home for the Nutrition and Food Science database?

To support you with accessing the Nutrition and Food Science database via the new CABI Digital Library platform there are videos and guides to download for help with searching, including simple and advanced tips and techniques, and saving content or searches and creating alerts via a personal account.

Can I still save content or searches and create alerts?

If you have previously accessed the Nutrition and Food Science database via the old CAB Direct platform and registered for a personal account to save content or searches and create alerts unfortunately your preferences will not be migrated. We recommend that between now and December 2023 you sign in to your personal account on the old CAB Direct platform and make a note of your saved searches and alerts so that you can re-produce them on the new CABI Digital Library platform.
