Improving Your Access to Electronic Resources

LIBRARY NEWS LAST UPDATED : 10 MARCH 2022
Student at home on laptop

During March we will be introducing some improvements with how you access some electronic resources (including eBooks, eJournals, databases and streaming services) from the following sources:

The improvements result from a collaboration between Library and Learning Resources and our IT Department colleagues to bring access in line with other BCU systems.

Will I notice a change when I access electronic resources?

Hopefully you will notice that access to some electronic resources is more seamless. If you are already signed in to a BCU system (e.g. iCity), when you click on a link for an electronic resource from one of the above listed sources you will not be asked to sign in again with your BCU email address and password.

Will there be any downtime?

We do not anticipate there being any downtime resulting from the changes made to introduce these improvements but please check the Library Dashboard for updates.

What should I do if I encounter a problem?

If you encounter a problem when signing in or with access to an electronic resource, you will see specific advice including the steps you need to take.

If you come across a link to an electronic resource that you think needs updating, please email Library and Learning Resources.
