Birmingham Festival Choral Society Oratorio Prize Final
Come and hear vocal music from across the wide spectrum of oratorio repertoire as the finalists compete to win the Birmingham Festival Choral Society Oratorio competition. The winner will receive a crystal trophy, a cash prize and a future engagement to sing as a soloist at a Birmingham Festival Choral Society concert. There are also small cash prizes for the singers in second and third places.
Birmingham Festival Choral Society is a thriving chorus of men and women, singing under the leadership of RBC alumnus David Wynne. The 'Festival' in the name points to its origin as the choir formed 180 years ago for the hugely successful Birmingham Triennial Festivals, performing world premieres for works such as Mendelssohn's 'Elijah'.
