Paul Dunmall Invites: Rachel Musson, Olie Brice, Mark Sanders
This month Paul Dunmall invites fellow saxophonist Rachel Musson (pictured), bass player Olie Brice and drummer Mark Sanders.
Rachel Musson is a brilliant improviser who has recently started to turn her hand to composition. Her piece for nine improvisers, I Went This Way, was commissioned for the Surge Festival, played the Cheltenham Jazz Festival and was recorded for the New York label 577 Records.
Mark Sanders recently played the Eastside club with Dark Days and truly energised that project.
Rachel Musson: "A free-improviser sensitive to melody-like narrative and dramatic pacing"
