RBC is delighted to host Chinese-Australian cellist, Li-Wei Qin in a lunchtime recital with long standing duo partner Jeremy Young. Li-Wei in one of the foremost cellists of his generation. Li-Wei came to study in the U.K. with Ralph Kirshbaum at the Royal Northern College of Music.

Having won the silver medal at the 11th Tchaikovsky International Competition he has gone on to perform with most of the world’s major orchestras and in all the major concert halls. He performs regularly around the world as soloist and chamber musician, and is in high demand as a teacher and jury member for international competitions.

His long standing duo partner, Jeremy Young, is one of the UK’s most in demand pianists and chamber musicians. He performs regularly in recitals and concerts throughout the world, and is also Head of Chamber Music at the Royal Northern College of Music.

This is sure to be an extraordinary recital with Schumann’s three sunny fantasy pieces sandwiched between powerful sonatas by Britten and Beethoven.
