Big Band Double Bill: The Guards Big Band with RBC Jazz Orchestra
In a fabulous and exhilarating double header, The Guards Big Band and RBC Jazz Orchestra take over the Eastside Jazz Club.
The Guards Big Band is drawn from the very finest jazz musicians from the British Army bands of the Household Division: the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards, plus the Household Cavalry. It is regularly featured in the Household Division music festival and has a unique repertoire including specially commissioned works.
For this special gig, the RBC Jazz students have the honour of sharing a platform with this superb band. There’ll also be some solo swapping – soloists from each band being featured with the other – giving a unique opportunity to the students of performing with the cream of Army musicians in an evening of big band music of the highest order.
