What to do if two universities have Open Days on the same day
So here's the dilemma. You’re trying to decide which university to apply for, but the Open Days are on the same day - typical. What should you do?
We’ve put together some top tips to help you maximise your multitasking skills and visit more than one Open Day. Trust us, it’s possible.
1. Planning is key
Figure out exactly what it is you want to see and ask before you arrive. It’s probably going to be really important to you to speak to your tutors and find out more about the subject you’re interested in, so prioritise this first. Is there anything else that’s going to be essential to help you decide if the university is right for you?
You can then use the timetable we’ll send to you in the programme to make sure you use your time wisely.
2. Know how long it takes to get from A to B
Before you set out, make sure you know how to get from one Open Day to the next. Located right in the centre of Birmingham, our campuses couldn’t be much easier to reach from key nearby locations. Other universities in Birmingham are so close that it would just involve an easy walk across the city to get here.
If you’re travelling from a little further afield, use our interactive guide to figure out the best route.

3. Be super organised
There’s a few shortcuts you can take in advance to help you get the most of your day. If you register before the event, you will be able to use your Open Day pass to access our FastTrack check-in on arrival. You could also check out which campus and building you need to go to before you get here to save you wandering around if you’re short of time.
4. The early bird catches the worm (and nails this Open Day thing)
Our doors open at 9am, so make sure you’re one of the first to arrive. You should then have time to see everything you need to here, and head off to another Open Day after lunch.
5. There are other chances to visit
If the other Open Day you want to attend is at the other end of the country, it may not actually be possible to do both. Don’t worry, there are other opportunities to visit us before you apply or arrive here.
