RBC LEAP Ensemble

Royal Birmingham Conservatoire’s Learning and Participation (LEAP) Ensemble delivers high quality, engaging and accessible performances and workshops for young people and community audiences.

LEAP Ensemble at Bristol Beacon

Made up of students, alumni and staff of RBC, the 25-piece chamber orchestra carefully selects and crafts its repertoire to be fun, creative and educational for many different audiences. The LEAP Ensemble works regionally and nationally with partners at Music Hubs, schools and the charity sector to provide world-leading participatory workshops and concerts.

Recent projects have included side-by-side projects with Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust and Gloucestershire Music, creative workshops with In Harmony Telford & Stoke-on-Trent and City Music Service (Stoke-on-Trent) and interactive performances for primary school audiences with Leicestershire Music.

The LEAP Ensemble is a training ground for RBC students to develop their skills in these settings in a practical way, guided by tutors in a supportive environment. The Ensemble provides opportunities for students to put into practice.
