BCU Beats and Voices

BCU Beats and BCU Voices are two free, open access, health and wellbeing music sessions for all staff and students from across the University. Funded by the Vice Chancellor, they provide a fun and friendly environment for you to de-stress at the end of the day and improve your health and wellbeing.

BCU Beats performing

BCU Beats is a percussion and drumming group led by percussionist Mark ‘Magoo’ Robertson. The group learns, creates, and explores rhythms and grooves from around the world.

BCU Voices is led by experienced vocal leader Audrey Lawrence Mattis, and members perform songs in a wide range of styles while also improving their singing and confidence. Making music in a group has been shown to be great for mental health and wellbeing, as well as building confidence. The sessions are designed to do exactly this, and both groups are not just musically excellent but also community based.

If you are a member of staff or a student at BCU, you can find out more and sign up to join by visiting the Join BCU Beats and Voices iCity page.
