Voices in Flight is a journey into the air, carried by the human voice. In the world of vocal music, the coloratura soprano is the voice closest to flight. This sound shimmers and soars beyond the limits of range, unfolding brilliant cascades of notes high above. The agile runs, the crystalline high tones—these are not merely feats of virtuosity, but expressions of emotional freedom. Join in this concert to enjoy how the coloratura soprano writes poetry in flight.
Chinese soprano Xingtian Ge is currently studying for the Advanced Postgraduate Diploma at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under Louise Crane. She completed her master’s degree at the Royal College of Music in July 2025.
Her Operatic roles to date include Zerlina (Don Giovanni) with Vienna Opera Festival conducted by Toby Purser, Nannetta (Falstaff) in RBC opera Scenes, Madame Herz (Der Schauspieldirctor), Adele (Die Fledermaus), and Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) in RCM Opera scenes in Britten Theatre and Sammy (Sammy&Remmy, which was a mini Ccontemporary opera) in New England Conservatory, Boston conducted by Gregory Buchalter of the Metropolitan Opera.
