Daisy Rentong Zhao was born in 2001 in Qiqihar, China where she started playing the piano at the age of six. She has performed concerts in Beijing, Shanghai, Harbin and Qiqihar.
She began to study on the BMus (Hons) undergraduate piano performance course at RBC in 2020 and is currently studying for the MMus postgraduate piano performance course at RBC. She is studying with Associated Head of Keyboard Daniel Browell and Robert Markham.
During her time at the Conservatoire, she has taken part in numerous competitions. She was the finalist in the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Piano prize (2025) Donohoe Gold Medal Piano Prize (2024), Renna Kellaway Piano Prize (2024), Beryl Chempin Beethoven Prize (2023) and the Denis Matthews Piano Prize 2022 (Highly Commended).
