Biegai in Brum
Presented by the RBC Saxophone Ensemble to celebrate the music of Christian Biegai.
Including performances from guests - Laefer Quartet (saxophones) and Charles Matthews (piano). Works by Biegai, minimalist giants Nyman and Glass - who influenced Christian's saxophone compositions - and the UK premiere of Berlin-based electronic music artist, composer and live performer Barbara Morgenstern.
Christian Biegai is an award-winning film composer whose work spans feature films, TV series, documentaries, and animated productions.
Christian’s formal training includes saxophone performance at the University of the Arts in Berlin and at the Royal College of Music in London. He also holds a Master’s Degree in performance and electro-acoustic composition at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA.
Beyond composing, Christian is an accomplished saxophonist who has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, Clair Obscur, Antony and the Johnsons, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the Mendelssohn Kammerorchestra, DM Stith, the Babylon Orchestra, Edison Woods and Barbara Morgenstern amongst others.
