Chanlian Chen is a current APD (Advanced Postgraduate Diploma) student at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (RBC) studying with Louise Lansdown and Martin Outram. In 2019, she gained a "Muriel Berry" scholarship from Royal Northern College of Music where she obtained her Master's degree after studying with Veit Hertenstein and Lucy Nolan.
Highlights of her study experience include masterclass with world-renowned violist Nobuko Imai, Lawrence Power, Nokuthula Endo Ngwenyama and Thomas Riebl.
Any donations made over and above this evening’s ticket price will be directed towards the Gwyn Williams Bursary Fund at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Founded by Stephannie Williams in memory of her late husband Gwyn Williams, former Principal Viola of the CBSO, the Fund supports Conservatoire viola students who are in financial need.
