Diane Clark

Diane enjoys a busy and varied career, and is in much demand as a flautist, teacher and workshop leader. As well as being principal flute of the Orchestra of the Swan, Birmingham Opera company and Mid-Wales Opera, she has worked with other leading orchestras and ensembles including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and the Royal Shakespeare Company.

With Orchestra of the Swan she has performed many concertos including several premieres. She also performs regularly in the Cotswold and Celeste Flute and Harp Duos. The Cotswold Duo, harpist Catherine a White, will be performing several recitals this season and are looking forward to performing in St James' Palace. Diane is known for being an inspirational and motivational teacher, with numerous excellent results from her students.

She has also shared her enthusiasm for the flute and music in workshops and masterclasses - including Sparks flute day which was held here at the Conservatoire. Diane believes passionately in sharing her music with all people - she is actively involved with outreach work organised by Orchestra of the Swan, extending the concert platform to a wider audience.
