Having qualified in Adult Nursing in 2009 from BCU, Samantha undertook roles within gastroenterology and gynaecology at the QEHB and Sandwell General Hospital. After gaining a postgraduate diploma in SCPHN, she worked within Birmingham as a Health Visitor for 7 years. Whilst working to support and safeguard vulnerable families in Handsworth Samantha completed her MSc in Professional Practice in Healthcare researching the Health Visitor role in supporting survivors of domestic abuse.

Samantha is passionate about health promotion, social inequalities, domestic abuse and research. This is incorporated into the teaching on the FdSc Nursing Associate Apprenticeship. She wants to support the student experience of the apprenticeships, whilst teaching the importance of excellent patient centred and family centred care.

Samantha is currently undertaking the Academic Professional Apprenticeship to gain a qualification of PG Cert in Higher Education. She is enjoying learning how to engage students into lifelong learning. It is supporting her knowledge in constructive alignment and inclusive education.
