Octabones - At The Barbershop
Octabones! is a 17-piece jazz ensemble bursting with colour, style, and swing - inspired by the deep connection between brass instruments and the human voice. Drawing influence from The Four Freshmen, The Hi-Los, and the timeless arrangements of Billy May, this one-of-a-kind group reimagines vocal jazz through a modern lens.
With eight trombones in two choirs, a barbershop quartet, and a rhythm section straight out of the big band era, Octabones! delivers everything from Gabrieli to Gershwin - lush harmonies, vibrant grooves, and a 21st-century edge.
Conceived and directed by trombonist Sam Franks and featuring some of the country’s finest instrumentalists and vocalists, this is a concert that celebrates brass, voice, and the joy of music itself.
