Mother Heroic: A Celebration of Björk’s Music
Conductor Ryan Bunce
Join us in celebrating globally-renowned Icelandic artist, Björk, through experimental instrumental arrangements of her eclectic musical output from her iconic first album Debut, up until her transcendental album Utopia.
Journey through this deep dive of Björk’s ever-changing, critically acclaimed discography – sinking into remote lagoons with moving ballads like Unravel, exploring lesser-known B-sides like Mother Heroic, blooming into joyous, groovy hits like Venus as a Boy, and reaching majestic highlands with songs like All Is Full Of Love.
Experience a unique sound world of an ensemble blending electronic and acoustic instruments, from an electric bass to harp and chamber organ.
Whether you are a fan of Björk, are interested in alternative music, or simply would like to experience and support something new at the Conservatoire - this evening will not be one to miss!
Arr. Matilda Fox
Running time approx. one hour
