Taiwanese Folk Song (Arr. Yi-Chih Lu) Grasshopper Playing Tricks on a Rooster
This concert incorporates a variety of elements. In addition to the classic marimba solo pieces, such as Merlin, the performers will make good use of backing tracks to showcase different styles of music. Furthermore, there is an alternative and atypical percussion piece called Aphasia, which not only challenges the skills of the performers but also tests the co-ordination of the performance. The repertoire will also include Taiwanese folk songs as a tribute to the longing for one's hometown.
Running time approx. 55 minutes without interval.
