RBC Camerata

Principal Stephen Maddock thanks everyone in the RBC community for their support during 2023, and shares his best festive wishes for the New Year.

Friends,

Somewhat to my surprise, I have reached the end of my first full term at RBC. And what a term it has been! I have enjoyed so many memorable performances by our students both within our venues and across the city, such as Birmingham City University’s Christmas Carol Service yesterday (Thursday 14 December). The annual carol service took place in Birmingham Cathedral, and our Camerata sang such an inspiring sequence of carols (pictured). It has also been a joy to get to know more of the wider RBC community of friends and alumni this year at these performances.

I have also really enjoyed getting to know my new colleagues at BCU, who have been patient with me as I learn all about Higher Education (HE).

Next year begins with the opening of our new Acting Studios in Digbeth, and my diary is already filling up with performances of every kind. I hope you will continue to join us for some of these, and in the meantime, I would like to thank you for all your support of RBC during 2023, and wish you a happy and peaceful Christmas.
