MMus student Gen Li will be able to focus on his music development next semester thanks to a scholarship from the Tillett Trust and Colin Keer Trust.

Following a successful audition, Master’s in Music (MMus) student Gen Li has been awarded a £10,000 scholarship from the Tillett Trust and Colin Keer Trust. Gen will receive the award when he starts his second year of study in September 2024.

The Tillett Trust, in association with the Colin Keer Trust, invites a nomination from each of the main British conservatoires for an outstanding student about to enter their second or subsequent year of postgraduate study. These nominees are auditioned and offered study grants according to ability and financial need.

Associate Head of Strings Nick Stringfellow said: “The String Department wishes Gen many congratulations on this well-deserved award. He is a wonderful collaborator and has made a massive contribution to RBC in his time with us. Our thanks go to the Tillett Trust and Colin Keer Trust for their generosity, and for enabling Gen to complete his MMus studies.”

Gen said: "I am deeply honoured to receive the scholarship. This generous support will significantly aid my studies, allowing me to focus more intently on my musical development. I am immensely grateful for the Conservatoire’s nomination and excited to continue pursuing my passion for music."
