Filming for season two of Big Mood is underway. The first series of the hit comedy, which starred Acting alumna Nicola Coughlan, was Channel 4’s most watched new comedy since Derry Girls, also starring Nicola.
BAFTA nominee Lydia West stars alongside Nicola in the comedy, written by Acting alumna Camilla Whitehill, with fellow alumna Amalia Vitale also appearing.
The first season of Big Mood was praised for being laugh-out-loud funny while simultaneously tackling heavy topics including mental illness, as Nicola’s character, Maggie tries to navigate friendships and work while also dealing with her bipolar disorder.
Nicola told Channel 4 she is “Deeply grateful to everyone who loves our mad, funny, sad show. It’s been one of the greatest joys of my life making it, and I’m beyond delighted that we get to come back and tell the next chapter of Maggie and Eddie’s story.”
Camilla Whitehall has also shared that she is “overjoyed to be bringing Big Mood back for another round!”
