The Atéa Wind Quintet has joined Birmingham Conservatoire, part of Birmingham City University, as their Associate Ensemble in Residence.
Formed in 2009, the UK-based ensemble comprises of recent graduates from the Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Atéa will be tutoring and mentoring students at Birmingham Conservatoire, as well as performing concerts as a group.
Members of the Atéa Wind Quintet have performed with many of the UK’s leading orchestras, including English National Opera, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and London Sinfonietta.
Philip Haworth, Oboist with Atéa, said: “We’re very honoured to be the Associate Ensemble in Residence and very much look forward to working with the talented students of Birmingham Conservatoire.
“We hope to bring our own unique approach to wind chamber music and cultivate a new and lasting passion for wind chamber music.”
