Conservatoire MA Acting alumnus Tom Allenby has joined a host of famous faces including Michael Palin and Ruth Jones for the Wonderland Challenge to help raise money for the NHS.
The challenge will see 165 actors each read one minute of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Five one-minute recordings will be released each day on www.wonderlandchallenge.com until the entire novel is available.
Conservatoire alumnus Tom Allenby, who graduated in 2016, got involved following a call-out for actors from voice artist Brad Shaw. Brad, who is in self-isolation due to a stage 3 melanoma, aimed to bring together actors and voice artists for a creative project, and to give back to frontline NHS workers.
Other actors involved include Juliet Stevenson, Harriet Walter, Christopher Biggins, John Challis, Henry Goodman, Angela Griffin, Patricia Hodge, Alex Jennings, Griff Rhys Jones, Phyllis Logan, Kevin McNally, and eight cast members from The Archers. The project aims to raise £10,000 for NHS Charities Together.
Tom said: “I'm excited to be joining 165 wonderful readers for this special version of Alice in Wonderland to help support the NHS. I am so grateful to all NHS workers for all the amazing work that they’re doing. Please donate if you can.”
