British Soprano Rose Johnson is a varied performer appearing as a soloist for oratorios, recitals, concerts and staged productions in the UK. Currently, Rose is a Young Artist on British Youth Operas Serena Fenwick programme. She performs regularly with Birmingham Opera Company and runs workshops in community settings across Birmingham and for audiences of Primary School Children.

Rose is a former student of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Operatic roles played by Rose during her studies have included 'Lady Billows' in Albert Herring (Britten); ‘Sarah Roberts’ in Banished (Stephen Mcneff), ‘Fiordiligi’ in Cosi Fan Tutte (Mozart), ‘Ariadne’ in Ariadne auf Naxos (Strauss), ‘Miss Spink’ in Coraline (Mark-Anthony Turnage), ‘Mélisande’ in Pelléas et Mélisande (Debussy), ‘Miranda’ in The Enchanted Island (Jeremy Sams) and ‘Donna Elvira’ in Don Giovanni (Mozart).

Rose’s performance highlights outside RBC include learning and rehearsing the role of ‘Confidante’ from Strauss’ Elektra with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (though this was not performed due to COVID), performing as a vocalist with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales (BBCNOW) in the first ever BBC Relaxed Prom, and singing in the Chorus of Tosca at the Abu Dhabi Festival. Rose sang and recorded with BBCNOW’s project ‘The Song of Songs’ by Walter Arlen with the English Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed in the Jennifer Blackwell Performance Space at Symphony Hall, Birmingham and enjoys solo oratorio work, most recently being an invited soloist for Brahms' German Requiem and Mozart's Requiem.
