Jonathan Rimmer

Jonathan Rimmer is a freelance chamber musician and Principal Flute with RPS-nominated Ensemble Cymru, promoting new and contemporary music by Welsh composers. He has been a guest tutor at specialist flute courses in the USA and Mexico, and was Associate Director of the International Summer School in Stratford for six years.

He was a semifinalist in the Shell LSO Competition and a Wind finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition in 1990. He has been a guest soloist with the European Community Chamber Orchestra and was Coach for the National Youth Wind Ensemble in 2009. In addition to his work at the Conservatoire, he is a tutor at Bangor University and Junior RNCM. His concert work includes tours of the Middle East, Mexico, Colorado and New York, and annual appearances at the Cucagnan Festival in France.
