Dr Sam Parker is a critical social psychologist and joined Birmingham City University in August 2019. Prior to this he worked as a Lecturer in the School of Social Sciences at Cardiff University where he also completed his PhD in 2018.

Jay's research topic is 'Understanding Changing Voter Attitudes and Perceptions toward Brexit', with respondents drawn from across the social spectrum. This is in order to gain insight into the broad range of views concerning Brexit.

Dr Dionne Taylor's role in BCU is about supporting, inspiring and guiding the students to reach beyond what many of them believe is possible. Encouraging students to work through the challenges, barriers and limitations to success is one of the reasons she became an academic.
